Our life is surrounded by the existence of water. The two-third of the earth area is the water area. The issues about polluted water area is somewhat a public concern. As a human being, should we just ignore it?

Wetland is an area on the earth which covered by the water, wether it’s salt or fresh water. The wetland contribute to the life and the existence of some certain environments. The wetland also has the function to prevent a few disasters, enhance the human life by its function on cultivating rice and many other functions.

For the past 300 year, the existence of wetland has been decreasing. The climate change had been happening over the past few years as the consequence when the existence of the world’s carbon captivator (wetlands) decrease by 87% of its initial existence.

The logic solution is creating the wetland conservation. It refers to the preservation and protection of wetlands, which are areas of land with soil that is saturated with water either permanently or seasonally. Wetlands play important roles in the environment, including providing habitat for wildlife, filtering pollutants from water, reducing the impact of floods, and storing carbon. Wetland conservation may involve measures such as protection from development, restoration of degraded wetlands, and responsible management of wetland resources. It is crucial for maintaining biodiversity, improving water quality, and supporting the livelihoods of local communities that depend on wetlands for food, fiber, and recreation.

There are several activities that are included in wetland conservation, including:

  1. Protection: Preventing the destruction and degradation of wetlands through legislation and regulations, designating wetlands as protected areas, and implementing zoning laws.
  2. Restoration: Repairing damaged or degraded wetlands by removing harmful pollutants, re-establishing native vegetation, and enhancing hydrology.
  3. Management: Implementing sustainable management practices to maintain wetland health and productivity, such as controlling invasive species and monitoring water quality.
  4. Education and Outreach: Raising public awareness about the importance of wetlands and the need for conservation through education and outreach programs.
  5. Research: Conducting research to better understand wetland ecosystems and develop effective conservation strategies.
  6. Monitoring: Regularly monitoring wetland conditions to detect and respond to threats and changes in the ecosystem.
  7. Collaboration: Building partnerships between government agencies, non-profit organizations, and local communities to work together on wetland conservation efforts.

To contribute the day of wetland in 2023, should we commit to contribute in the preservation and to keep the wetland out of the pollution? it depends on you but the world ask you to do so!!!
